Diskusia: NBA Won't Punish James Dolan for Sending Nasty Email to Knicks Fan

11.2.2015 06:58 BasketPortal.sk

Over the weekend, Deadspin exposed James Dolan for sending a scathing email to a lifelong Knicks fan. The email featured Dolan calling the man an alcoholic and telling him to "start rooting for the Nets." Definitely not his finest moment.

But according to the New York Post, the email isn't going to cost him anything. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was asked earlier today whether or not Dolan will be punished by the league for sending the email, and he said no. He also rationalized the thought process behind Dolan's decision to send the email in the first place.

"Jim is a consummate New Yorker," he said. "Jim got an unkind email and responded with an unkind email."

Basically.

But because he's the owner of an NBA franchise, doesn't that mean that he shouldn'trespond to unkind emails with unkind emails of his own? Eh, whatever. It's not like a fine would hurt Dolan much anyway. And all the negative press that he's receiving at the moment is probably punishment enough.
